The Kalamalka Highlanders invite you to join us in an ages old tradition of playing celtic music on the pipes & drums. Whether you are an accomplished musician or a raw beginner, young or not so young, we offer a variety of levels of teaching for beginners to more advanced.

Our practices are on Thursday nights starting at 6:00 PM for beginners and a “basic tune” chanter practice for those who wish. 7:00 sees us move to our regular chanter/practice pad session for the band, then at 8:00 we move to pipes & drums for an hour.

We are located at the Vernon Recreation Center Auditorium, 3310 37th Avenue. Right behind Boston Pizza.

June, July and August we move outdoors to Polson Park for pipes and drums starting at 7:00.

There are no lessons at this time.

We have an additional “drop-in” practice on MOST Monday nights from 7:00PM till 9:00PM at the Army, Navy & Airforce Vets. at 2500 46th St. in Vernon

This practice also goes to Polson Park for the summer, usually in early May.

We now have a “YOUTH” band for those under the age of 19 and are currently practicing every other Wednesday at the Royal Canadian Legion, 3300  31st Ave in Vernon.

Our main registration is in early September but new members are welcome to join us at any time. Please call Pipe Major Don MacLeod @
250-260-1001 or President Reg Scott @ 250-545-4280 or just drop in.
