The Kalamalka Highlanders invite you to join us in an ages old tradition of playing celtic music on the pipes & drums. Whether you are an accomplished musician or a raw beginner, young or not so young, we offer a variety of levels of teaching for beginners to more advanced.

Our practices are on Thursday nights starting at 6:00 PM for our more accomplished musicians, playing a higher level set of tunes on chanters/pads and pipes & drums. 7:00 sees us move to our regular chanter/practice pad session for the band, then at 8:00 we move to pipes & drums for an hour.

We are located at the Vernon Recreation Center Auditorium, 3310 37th Avenue. Right behind Boston Pizza.

June, July and August we move outdoors to Polson Park for pipes and drums starting at 7:00.

We have an additional “drop-in” practice on MOST Monday nights from 7:00PM till 9:00PM at the Army, Navy & Airforce Vets. at 2500 46th St. in Vernon

This practice also goes to Polson Park for the summer, usually in early May.

We also have a “YOUTH” band for those under the age of 19 and are currently practicing every Wednesday at 4701- 29th St. near the Village Green Mall. Lessons for all youth AND adults are held here at 6:00 and then the Youth Band takes over at 7:00.

Our main registration is in early September but new members are welcome to join us at any time. Please call Pipe Major Don MacLeod @ 250-260-1001 or just drop in and introduce yourself.
